Teryn Jones

Teryn's passion for animals began in her childhood when she would bring home every creature she encountered, including garden snails. Her love extended to various animals like rabbits, hamsters, cats, dogs, and horses. Besides playing with her dogs, she would visit neighbors to train and interact with their dogs, with one neighbor sparking her interest further by gifting her a dog training book. Since then, she has been dedicated to training animals. Now, Teryn is a wife and a homeschool mom who delights in teaching anyone willing to listen about animals. She has a particular interest in nurturing children and teens' love for animals, a passion sparked by a neighbor who once inspired her.

Teryn started professionally as a horse trainer and has been training cats and dogs for over 20 years. She has a diploma in Advanced Canine Behavioral Sciences and Feline Behavior Science and Technology. She is a Certified Dialog Education Practitioner through Global Learning Partners. She was a contract trainer for the ASPCA where she traveled around the country teaching Meet Your Match Canine-ality, Feline-ality, and SAFER (dog aggression assessments). She has owned a successful dog and cat training business where she and her trainers taught behavior consults, group classes (dogs), private lessons, and board and train (dogs). She has trained police dogs and their handlers in protection, narcotics detection, and tracking. She is one of only a few civilian instructors who have taught at the International Police K9 conference. Teryn volunteered as a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs of America (GDA) for 15 years and was their Area Leader (conducting meetings and training other puppy raisers - adults and teens) for 7 years. Teryn was also an accredited senior training instructor and graduated number one in her accreditation class.
