Introducing Online Junior Trainer Unit Studies for Kids!
Are you looking for a fun and educational pet friendly activity for your kids? Look no further! Our Jr. Trainer study for kids and teenagers is the perfect opportunity to learn training skills while bonding with your furry family member.

These classes are not about perfection but about your kids gaining confidence while training pets.

Why Choose Our Jr. Trainer Unit Study for Kids And Teens?

  • Great for the whole family

  • Promotes Responsibility: Learning to train a pet teaches the student about responsibility, empathy, and important life skills that will benefit them for years to come.

  • Builds Confidence: As the student master training techniques and see results with their animal companions, their confidence grows.

What to Expect:

This unit study was initially created for homeschooling families interested in animal training. Given that homeschooling families often prefer engaging the whole family in projects, a variety of pages have been provided based on the students' ages. For example, there are three different goal-setting worksheets that achieve the same outcome but are designed differently to cater to teenagers as well as 9-year-olds. Pick and choose what worksheets suit your students best.

Time: This unit study can take between 3-6 weeks depending on how many behaviors the students want to train their pet, and how much time they have to work on training. The majority of the time is spent doing the hands-on training of the animal. For best success, students should practice 4-6 days a week, 2-15 min sessions per day.

The worksheets provided complement the training the kids will do and help them to dive in deeper and gain a better understanding of what they are learning. The training is not about perfection, but about your students gaining confidence while training pets as they learn about responsibility, empathy, and other important life skills.

  • The lesson plans suggest students choose 3-5 behaviors to train their dogs, which may include obedience commands like sit, down, etc. as well as entertaining tricks like shake, bow, and play dead.

  • After students select which behaviors they want to train, both you and the students can delve into instructional videos on training these behaviors on platforms such as YouTube. Alternatively, books with detailed instructions can be useful. Since students have a diverse range of training topics to choose from, the package does NOT include actual videos. However, included is a list of names of YouTube Chanel's with trainers & one book where you might find what you are looking for. (I don't have any affiliation with these trainers and have not watched all of their content, so please watch/read/train at your own risk.)

  • The worksheets in the unit will strengthen understanding and showcase comprehension. Furthermore, the worksheets can be a beneficial resource for charter schools.

Ages- You know your students best. Kids 13 and up can usually complete all of the work on their own, whereas an 8 or 9-year-old will probably need help from an adult with the training part.
